“Untitled” by Michal Mitchell
Could I dance with you?
Or will you leave me all alone.
At that time I wept and crept right underneath your skin,
I forgot to tell you.
That every time you came across my mind,
I scratched you out until you felt my pain,
Because I couldn’t let you in,
Into my mind of sorrow weeps,
And pity self to sleep,
My mind must have killed you.
I wish you could’ve been the one,
To save me from my demons,
My brain washed and roughly sunken through,
My wasted memories,
I tormented with my mind,
Distorted every time,
I wished you were there to see me through,
Because I cannot save myself without you.
Tell me, do you still think of me?
I wish not out of fear or pity,
Because I hoped, you wouldn’t care,
If I fell into despair,
Because it’s not what I’m used to,
And if I feel comfort I’ll dream to see it through,
That’s why reluctantly, I let my dreams,
Turn to nightmares.
But would I ever really dare, to take that dance, for I just stare,
Eyes is all I’ve ever seen,
The ones from nightmares, not of dreams.
