Traveling is always exciting and thrilling, and it can create some of the best memories of your life. There are many different ways to spend a vacation. You can go somewhere familiar that makes you feel comfortable, or you can try somewhere new. This summer, I was debating between many different destinations for my vacation, and ended up going to Bali, Indonesia. Bali has so many beautiful natural landscapes to explore. It’s a paradise for surfers, and its sunsets and beaches are absolutely stunning. Even within Bali, different areas offer completely different scenery. Another great aspect is that there are many beautiful hotels located near the beach, where you can enjoy all this scenery up close. For me, the number one goal of this trip was to relax and enjoy every moment.
However, there is another reason why Bali has become increasingly popular among younger tourists. It has developed a thriving wellness culture that perfectly complements its relaxing, tropical atmosphere. Younger travelers are looking for places where they can recharge and feel more energized. To match this growing interest, Bali offers a wide variety of wellness activities, including yoga, group fitness classes, massive gyms, and run clubs. Many fitness centers have been developed on a massive scale, with luxurious facilities that make spending most of the day there feel worthwhile.
Even though you’re on vacation, these experiences make you feel like you’re glowing up while maintaining a healthier, more balanced lifestyle.
Fitness centers
First, Bali has a variety of fitness centers to explore. As a heavy lifter, I visited many different gyms to experience different atmospheres. I would divide these gyms into two categories: those that focus more on group fitness, and those that focus on individual bodybuilding training. Most of the gyms have their own cafes and restaurants that focus on nutrition, as well as swimming pools, saunas, and cold plunges where people can relax after their workouts.
Bambu Fitness is one of the most famous gyms in Bali, offering group fitness classes, as well as a smaller indoor training area with machines where people can do different types of workouts. Since Bali has perfect weather for outdoor activities, the main workout area is partially outdoors, which makes the experience feel more refreshing.
When you join a class, you get to meet instructors and other participants, and work out together for about an hour. Each class has around 30 to 40 participants, with instructors guiding everyone through the workout. The biggest advantage of this facility is that, unlike traditional gyms, it is a CrossFit-style training environment in a partially outdoor space. You can really feel the energy from working out with people who are very passionate about fitness.
Besides Bambu Fitness, there are many other gyms in Bali that are designed more for machine-based training and bodybuilding. Obsidian in particular focuses on machine-based workouts, similar to the gyms we are more familiar with. However, since many professional bodybuilders train there, you can experience a much more intense workout atmosphere.
This gym doesn’t offer group fitness classes, but instead attracts visitors with its social media-worthy facilities. It has a posing room and high-end machines that make it especially appealing to serious bodybuilding enthusiasts.
Food
One of the best ways to maintain a wellness-focused lifestyle is to eat healthy. In Bali, there is a wide variety of food to try, since it is a popular tourist destination with a very international atmosphere. Also, since wellness culture is so popular there, there are many places where you can enjoy healthy food with balanced nutrition.
There are many breakfast spots where you can enjoy a light brunch, fresh local fruits, and great coffee. Many fitness centers also have their own restaurants that offer high-protein meals. There are customizable protein smoothie bars, and restaurants where you can check the exact amounts of carbohydrates, protein, fat, minerals, and calories in each meal. You can even adjust the sodium content.
I tried a meal that consisted of just steak, eggs, and rice, and it was delicious. I was so happy that I could enjoy such a high-protein meal that was both healthy and delicious without any unnecessary extras.
Nightlife
Another major part of Bali is its all-day party scene. Young peoples’ energy isn’t just found in gyms; it’s also at parties. Bali has plenty of beach clubs, nightclubs, and bars where you can enjoy the amazing weather.
Beach clubs, in particular, are large outdoor venues located right by the beach. They offer a variety of food, along with huge swimming pools and stages, making them perfect for experiencing a unique party atmosphere. You can also meet so many people from all over the world who are all enjoying their vacations.
You can enjoy music and food at these clubs during the day, but you can also make the most of your trip by sightseeing during the day and partying at night. One of Bali’s biggest attractions is that you can work out and relax in the morning, then enjoy an exciting nightlife experience later in the evening.
If you want to escape the chaos of everyday life and find some peace, Bali is a great place to visit. Even while traveling, I enjoyed plenty of healthy food and activities that kept me healthy and active. Bali is a place where you can truly make the most of your youth, and let your youthful energy shine.
