Bucket List Idea: Baby Goat Yoga

We are more than halfway through the year, and if you are anything like me, you like to reset and check in on your bucket list after summer. When I was going through mine, I realized I had done so many things that I never actually put on my list. Some of those unexpected experiences ended up becoming some of my favorite little getaways from everyday life.

One of those unexpected getaways? Baby goat yoga. If you are looking for something fun to add to your fall bucket list, this might be the perfect activity for you. Yes, I could have told you about this during the summer, but fall in Central Florida is the perfect time to get outside and enjoy some time in nature. And because I honestly don’t like recommending things I haven’t personally tried, I decided to take a chance and experience it for myself earlier this year.

A Little Farm Getaway

Not too far from UCF is a beautiful farm called Wildflower Farm. From the moment we arrived, the owners were incredibly welcoming. Before the class began, they took the time to talk to us, explain a little bit about who they are, how they got started, and what they do. I really appreciated this because it made the experience feel more personal. You weren’t just showing up for a yoga class; you were getting to know the people and the heart behind the farm.

Once we got into the class, the instructors made it clear you didn’t need any previous yoga or stretching experience. The biggest things were to pay attention to the instructions and, most importantly, listen to your body. As someone who is not exactly a yoga expert, this was definitely reassuring.

Another of my favorite parts about the experience was being outside. Since the yoga takes place on the farm rather than inside a traditional studio, you get to enjoy the surrounding nature while you exercise. And while I personally think summer in Central Florida can be a little too hot for an outdoor yoga session, fall makes the experience much more enjoyable.

There is something about being outside, slowing down for a little while, and getting away from your usual routine that makes the whole experience feel like a mini getaway.

Okay, But What About the Baby Goats?

Obviously, this is the real reason we’re here: the baby goats!

They were honestly the cutest animals ever. I did not expect them to be as adorable as they were, and you even get the opportunity to feed them! Watching them run around, interact with everyone, and do their thing made the whole experience so much more fun. My favorite baby goat was my friend Diva. (Don’t tell the others.)

And let me tell you, these baby goats definitely test your balance and your ability to stay serious. You can be right in the middle of a stretch, completely focused on your pose, and suddenly a baby goat is running around you or jumping on you. Trying not to laugh while maintaining your balance? Easier said than done.

More Than Just Yoga

The baby goats were definitely a highlight, but they weren’t the only thing that made the experience memorable. The instructors were great, and the owners even prepared homemade lemonade for us after the session so we could recharge and refresh before heading back out. I also appreciated how realistic the expectations were. The instructors knew we were there to exercise, but they also understood that most of us were probably really there for the baby goats.

The message was simple: have fun, be respectful, and enjoy the experience. And honestly, I think that’s what made it such a great little getaway.

So… have I convinced you yet? Or, if I haven’t, maybe the baby goats in the pictures will do the convincing for me. Baby goat yoga ended up being one of those unexpected experiences I didn’t know I needed. It gave me a chance to step away from my normal routine, spend time outside, try something new, and, of course, hang out with some very cute baby goats.

So if you’re looking for a fun fall activity to do with your friends, consider adding baby goat yoga to your bucket list. Grab your friends, get outside, enjoy some yoga, feed some baby goats, and finish the morning with fresh lemonade.
