You’re Going To Love These Borg Recipes

ICYMI, Borgs are the internet’s newest obsession. Move over, rhyme without reason parties — the Borg has officially cemented itself as Gen Z’s newest party activity. For the 21+ college folks out there, sipping a Borg at a party has become a way of life. But, for those of you who are in the dark about the internet’s newest drinking trend, don’t worry — I got you.

While the word “Borg” wounds random, it’s actually an acronym for “blackout rage gallon.” Essentially, a Borg is a gallon jug of water with liquor, flavoring, and anything you feel inclined to add poured into it: juice, MiO, Liquid I.V., an energy drink… you name it. Then, once your Borg is mixed, you use a marker to write a fun name onto the jug before heading to the function. Try explaining that to a Victorian child.

However, to create a Borg, all you need to do is pour out (or drink) about half of the water jug. From there, add about a fifth of the liquor of your choice — though you can totally add less — and an entire packet of crystal light, MiO, or any other kind of flavor packet. Keep this in mind when you’re creating your Borg: It’s the golden ratio!

From Tropical Borgs to Fuity Borgs, here are some of the best Borg recipes out there. You’re welcome in advance, and drink responsibly!

A Tropical Borg-cation.

If you’re living in the colder parts of the world, and craving summer, this one is for you. To create the tropical vacation Borg of your dreams, all you’ll need is your gallon jug, coconut rum, half of a Tropical Vibe Celcius, and some Tropical Coconut Crystal Light. Mix them together, shake it all up, and enjoy an alcoholic beverage that tastes like a vacation in a… jug?

Sour Borg-Le.

A play on the yummy sour green apple flavor, this Borg tastes like candy in a gallon jug. To create this Borg, add the vodka of your choice, Tart Green Apple Liquid I.V., and Green Thunder MiO. It’s giving Jolly Rancher, and I’m into it.

Borg-ange Creamsicle.

Who doesn’t love an orange creamsicle? Simply add orange-flavor MiO, Tangerine Liquid I.V., and whipped cream vodka to your gallon jug. Bonus points if it’s chilled. Obsessed.

Borg Punch.

Fruit punch is indisputably delicious, so why not make a Borg based on it? Add some fruit punch MiO, Wildberry Liquid I.V., half a can of Strawberry Lemonade Celcius, and a liquor of your choice to the jug. From there, shake it up and enjoy!

Borg-onade.

When life gives you a Borg, you made Borg-onade. To your gallon jug, add a packet of Lemon-Lime Liquid I.V., lemonade MiO, the liquor of your choice, and a little bit of Strawberry Lemonade Celcius. Refreshing and delicious, IMHO.
