Black Friday is coming up, and what better way to celebrate the biggest shopping holiday of the year than treating yourself to the pair of shoes you’ve been desperately waiting for to go on sale, or the makeup products you’ve been waiting all year to justify buying? While you want to be smart about your Black Friday purchases, you also want to make sure you’re aligning your purchases with your zodiac sign (yes, bestie, it matters)!
Astrology can not only help us plan our purchases, but it can also help us identify the right time to make purchases and help us overall make the best buying decisions, says Rachel Ruth Tate, astrologist and host of The Astrology Table podcast. While there isn’t anything you can’t or shouldn’t buy, there are certainly things you can focus your energy on that align with your natural inclinations and values, which, in turn, can enhance self-awareness and reduce guilt-ridden shopping habits. (I know we’ve all felt that Black Friday guilt.)
That’s why I’ve decided to lay out a list of the best items to spend your money on this Black Friday, according to your zodiac sign. But in order to determine which zodiac sign you should be following this Black Friday, you have to first understand how the birth chart works.
How to determine your astrology sign for spending
Your rising sign, determined by the zodiac sign on the eastern horizon at the time and location you were born, is the one that lays out the rest of your chart, Tate says. “This gives us access to the second and eighth houses of money and shared resources.”
Astrology houses are the areas of life where you focus your energy, while your zodiac signs denote the quality of energy you spend in each of them. So, your sun sign, which is the zodiac sign you most commonly refer to in everyday conversation, will not necessarily be the sign in your second or eighth house. In order to determine the sign that is, you’ll have to look at your birth chart.
However, because you’re most likely going to be spending your own money on Black Friday, your second house will be the one you want to follow. Tate says. Your eighth house, on the other hand, is dedicated to spending money that isn’t yours (or taking on debt). “Black Friday deals usually don’t involve a loan, so unless you’re using Klarna or Afterpay, your second house will be the one active and ready to go the day after Thanksgiving,” she says.
What to buy, according to your astrology sign
- Aries: High-Quality Athleisure

Aries tend to shop quite impulsively, Tate says. “Invest in a premium athleisure set, like the Muse Sweatpants ($118) or a hoodie from Alo Yoga,” she says.
However, she notes that it might be a good idea for this sign to check their balances before the Black Friday shopping spree!
- Taurus: New Tech

Taureans are much like Aries in that they tend to splurge big, Tate says. She suggests that Taureans should “take a chance on new tech, like the noise-cancelling Apple AirPods 4 ($99).”
- Gemini: Quality Daily Use Products

Geminis are generally not ones to shop in person, Tate says. They tend to gravitate towards online shopping, which, honestly, seems like a much less stressful Black Friday ordeal. Tate suggests that Geminis “snag high-end daily-use products, like a 3-pack of Stance Basic Crew Socks ($29).”
- Cancer: Makeup

Cancers tend to love shopping the aisles for home and lifestyle goodies, especially at Home Goods, Tate says. She suggests Cancers go for “something that makes you look and feel special, like NARS Powder Blush in Orgasm ($36).”
- Leo: Self-Care Essentials

Leos always go for the shiny objects, Tate says. But for Black Friday, she suggests they “spend judiciously on practical personal care items, like Kitsch Microfiber Hair Towel Scrunchies ($13).”
Tate says that Leos better watch their spending this Black Friday, though. (Me too, Leo. Me too).
- Virgo: Timeless Homeware

Virgos love home organization systems, Tate says. Think: drawers dedicated to cooking spices (you know, the incredibly aesthetic and organized ones you see on TikTok). Virgos should “treat yourself to a lovely and timeless piece, like a Riedel Crystal Apple Decanter,” she says.
- Libra: Intimates

Ah yes, Libras. Lovers of all things art and jewelry, Tate says. This Black Friday, Libras should “carefully select high-end intimates, like some hanky panky Signature Lace Original Rise Thongs ($15),” she says.
- Scorpio: Games

Scorpios tend to save their money for a good bottle of bourbon, Tate says. (My kinda Scorpio). But this Black Friday, Tate suggests they “have fun with the holiday and curate some punchy games, like Cards Against Humanity ($29).”
- Sagittarius: Air Fryer

Sagittarians tend to be carefree, Tate says. They don’t care what they spend their money on, as long as it intrigues them. This Black Friday, Tate suggests they “shop strategically and prioritize necessities,” like The Ninja 4-Qt Air Fryer ($80). (I can attest that this is the best air fryer.)
- Capricorn: Apple Watch

Capricorns, unfortunately, are likely getting spending alerts quite often, Tate says. But, this Black Friday, Capricorns should “update your older electronics with newer releases, like an Apple Watch Series 11 ($340).”
Capricorns also have to watch their spending this Black Friday, she says. (Maybe check your balances first.)
- Aquarius: Yoga Mat

Aquarians tend to adopt new tech early, Tate says. They like to buy outside of the box. But this Black Friday, Aquarius signs should “stock up on spiritual essentials, like a Manduka PROlite Long Yoga Mat ($108),” she says.
Much like Aries, and Capricorn, Aquarians should check their balances before their Black Friday shopping spree. (We’re in it together, Aquarians).
- Pisces: Air Force 1s

Last but not least, Pisces: “Procure crystals and essential oils,” Tate says. But, on Black Friday, she suggests Pisceans invest more movement in their daily life, and Nike Air Force 1s ($115) are the perfect choice, she says.
