You’ve Been Manifesting Wrong: Here’s How To Do It Right For The Cancer New Moon

So, it turns out I have been manifesting wrong for, like, my entire life.

I am a big believer in speaking things into existence, so that’s what I have been doing — but there’s an added level of self-understanding to make manifestation successful. And now that I learned the right way, I will be getting deeper with myself during Cancer season (clearly, I am feeling the Cancer vulnerability). And it makes sense, this season will bring anyone with Cancer in their chart some big feelings.

The Cancer New Moon is quickly approaching, so it’s time to get ready to manifest. On July 17, the blank sky will be the perfect place to manifest things related to your inner life, family life, and other close relationships. This can sound really daunting, but embracing the dark sky and big feelings that come with Cancer season, and the new moon, can be powerful and important to embracing your deepest self.

If you have been feeling stuck or tense in your relationships, lacking creativity, or struggling with expression, it’s time to enter the month with some purity and focus your energy inward. I chatted with Paige Creamer, of Moon Baby Wellness, about all things manifestation during Cancer season.

It’s not just about what you want, go deeper than that

Just like me, you might be approaching manifestation in a way that isn’t the best in terms of results. Creamer explained that the current focus on manifestation online isn’t always right — there is not always the ability to wish for something aloud and snap your fingers and just make it happen. (Could you even imagine what life would be like if that worked?)

Instead, she says to focus inward during this new moon, asking how you feel fulfilled, and how you feel impactful. According to Creamer,  it’s easy to just say we want something, but true manifestation requires going deeper and really believing we deserve this, and practicing accepting it.

“Those are the kind of questions to ask to really go into the quiet and the dark and the purity of selfhood and to manifest from that place,” says Creamer.

Manifestation requires a bit of prep.

So, how do we manifest during the Cancer new moon? Don’t worry, Creamer broke it down for us.

“It doesn’t ever hurt to start with a little prayer, or setting an intention out loud,” says Creamer. “Or to just talk really clearly and openly with those guides and say only allow in what is for my best and highest good and of love.”

Creamer says that words really are spells, so if you find yourself alone during this new moon manifestation, talking out loud can be an empowering tactic. This manifestation cycle can be a great time to use moon water (water charged with the power of the full moon) and your favorite crystals. She also mentions this is a great time to open your throat chakra, so get your yoga mat ready, and put on a blue workout set.

Creamer says, in her own manifestation practice, she gets really quiet and likes adding in a heart-centered meditation. “Think about what lights that center up,” Creamer says.

She always keeps a notebook near her, so she can make a list after meditating when she is at her clearest. She says she always knows the next step after meditating during a manifestation season, so this list helps her see what she is going to do and what the universe with do to help this goal become reality.

Don’t be afraid to get deep.

The new moon is sure to bring lots of Cancer energy, so if you have any Cancer in your moon charts get ready. The sky can bring lots of feelings of vulnerability, but according to Creamer there’s only one thing to do —- embrace it.

If you are feeling mixed feelings about getting super emotional this month, it makes sense, the moon in Cancer doesn’t just give you bog feelings it lets you get deep with them. “It’s not just feeling big feelings, Cancer is the capacity to feel big feelings,” Creamer says.

The moon in Cancer will also bring fluid feelings of nurturing feelings to move through. There is also an opposition with Pluto, which can make your manifestation system more powerful bringing some confidence. “It breathes a little bit like courage because it’s our relationship with power, our relationship with sex, our relationship with money,” Creamer says.

Keep your focus on internal growth.

According to Creamer, a great place to start is to ask, “What will bring your home to yourself?”

She mentions that, since this Cancer new moon takes place in the summer, tons of people are booked and busy this time of year. She says this is a push from the cosmos to not get too caught up in the outer world and take a minute to reflect inward to the home you are building for yourself within your soul.

“How can you stay at home with yourself in the next season?” she added.

If you are excited about this new transit but have no idea where to start manifesting, Creamer encourages manifestations related to boundaries, creativity, and expression in this cycle.

“The most important thing is to remember you are a co-creator and you are powerful,” Creamer says. “So, when you start to manifest, look to yourself first, look to your inner world first, to really operate from the inside out.”
