5 Date Ideas If Your Partner’s Love Language Is Acts Of Service

Love languages are a great way to express love for your partner in your everyday life, but have you ever considered having your date nights revolve around expressing your partner’s preferred love language? For those whose love language is acts of service, don’t worry — I’ve got some adorable date night ideas for you.

There are many ways we can show our partners that we love them, and one of those ways is by communicating with our partners in their love language. Acts of service is one of those love languages where a little goes a long way: Some people may think that doing acts of service for your partner means doing hard, complicated things for them, but that isn’t true. Acts of service don’t necessarily have to be grand gestures — simple things such as making your partner coffee when they get out of bed, making them lunch and sneaking a sweet note in, or helping them study count as acts of service. It’s the little things that count, y’know?

You can always sprinkle in some sweet gestures for your partner throughout the week… or you can plan a date revolving around the acts of service love language. And personally? I think it’s always fun to try new things to spice up your dating life.

So, if your love language (or your partner’s) is acts of service, here are five date ideas to try.

Cook dinner together.

To me, there’s nothing better than a home-cooked meal made by my partner with extra love. Instead of going to your favorite date night spot, try staying in and cooking your favorite meal together! You can always share a glass of your favorite wine and dance around the kitchen together while cooking. It doesn’t have to feel like a chore — make it fun. Make it romantic. It is supposed to be a date, after all.

Have a massage night.

If you and your partner both had a long day and want to unwind together, then try having a massage night together! It’s simple enough — just have your partner lie down, grab some lotion, and massage their stress away. After you’re done, you and your partner can switch roles. And who knows? Maybe this date night can lead to other acts of service in bed later (wink).

Make breakfast in bed.

Who doesn’t love breakfast in bed? For this one, set your alarm a little early and give yourself time to make your partner’s favorite breakfast, whether it’s pancakes, waffles, or an omelet. Or, if cooking isn’t your thing (don’t worry — ’cause same), you can always get their favorite pastries the night before and serve them to your partner in bed with a side of coffee.

Have a chore day.

I don’t think any of us mind having a little extra help around the house. A great date idea is picking a whole day to spend together doing chores and cleaning up your house (or apartment) together. Like I said before — these dates don’t have to be mundane or boring. You don’t have to clean together in awkward silence. Put on your favorite playlist, be loud and sing together, and take breaks. If you think about it, it’s a two-in-one — you get to spend a whole day being productive while spending time together, too.

Volunteer together.

Acts of service don’t have to be just for your partner — they can be for your community, too. A great date idea for the two of you is volunteering together. You can always volunteer at animal shelters, local events, and around the city. This is a great way to spend time together and do some good for the world, too.
