Woman Crush Wednesday: Rupi Kaur

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Winthrop chapter.

Most people are familiar with the poems from the book “milk and honey”  but are unaware of where they came from and who wrote them–but I’m here to tell you who the master behind those wonderful words are.

Rupi Kaur is a Canadian writer from India and is described as a “feminist poet” who writes about all sorts of important subject matter—from a woman’s freedom of speech, to women learning to love themselves to being independent and “enough”. Her poems are filled with beautiful words and lessons that every young girl, young woman and woman in general needs to read.

If you haven’t ever read any of her poems, check out some below and be sure to visit her website and check out some more of her poems!
