We all know the soul-crushing feelings that come over the midterm season. You hit a point where you feel as if you canât cram any more information into your brain for fear that it might burst. To help counteract these feelings, here are a few Spotify playlists to keep you motivated!
“Studying at Hogwarts”

A playlist consisting of various pieces from the Harry Potter films, “Studying at Hogwarts” will take you far away from wherever youâre studying and transport you to Hogwarts. Pair this playlist with a hot tea, coffee (or an online butterbeer recipe if youâre feeling fancy,) and put yourself in the Hermione Granger study spirit!
“The Study Playlist to End All Study Playlists”

This playlist has a wide range of different music styles, and features one of my favourite music pieces of all time – Alan Turingâs âLegacyâ from The Imitation Game. Also, with a name like this, how can you not want to listen to it? There really is something for everyone, I encourage you to give this playlist a shot!
“Studying Chill Pop Bops”

Relaxing and instrumental soundtracks not your thing? Then this playlist might be for you! Featuring songs such as âFix Youâ by Coldplay and âShe Will Be Lovedâ by Maroon 5, this playlist is full of rainy day, low key bops. Some are more upbeat than others, but this can also serve for a short three-minute dance break to stretch your body! Remember, itâs important to take breaks.
“Peaceful Piano”
Click here! I donât know about you, but I love studying to soft piano music – especially when itâs cold outside and Iâm craving the feeling of being cozy. While this playlist is created by Spotify itself, it features more than popular creators such as Beethoven (anyone else tired of constantly hearing him on study playlists?). Put your headphones on and let yourself get swept away by these relaxing tunes.
“Soundtrack for Study”

Last but not least is the traditional playlist, “Soundtrack for Study”. Filled with pieces from famous soundtracks, you will likely be able to recognize at least two of the pieces that come on when you are listening. This playlist is also created by Spotify and has a good mix of upbeat pieces and relaxed ones – it’s one of my personal favourites and is a true mixed bag of options!
I hope this list of playlists helps you to get through the dreaded midterm season. Above all else, remember to be kind to yourself. Study in blocks and be sure to make time to jam out to one of your favourite artists on your a break to keep your morale high – BeyoncĂ© is always a good option!
