4 Resolutions to Make This New Years

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Wilfrid Laurier chapter.

With January right around the corner it’s time for a year end review. From the regretful all-nighter cram sessions, to the startling fashion faux pas you made and the chances we didn’t take and wish we had, the New Year is a great opportunity to make some changes. Here are some resolutions you can consider adding to your list this year on your pursuit to becoming a new and improved you!

Find Your Passion: Dedicate yourself to something you love, or take 2015 as an opportunity to discover what excites you most! Once you find it, embrace it. Your passion is a part of who you are. Spending more time working on something that you are passionate about means wasting less time on Netflix. You’ll find yourself feeling more accomplished. Consider it a win-win situation.

Take Chances: A lot of opportunities are going to come your way this year. It’s up to you to decide what chances you’ll take and which ones you’ll turn away. No matter what decisions you make sometimes they’ll work out, other times they won’t. It’s important to laugh at your mistakes, and never regret making them. We learn from our experiences, and no matter how they end it’s a lesson that we’ll always take with us.

Explore Your Options: Don’t let anything hold you back! You’re young! Now is the time to travel abroad, look into internships or a college exchange and discover the path that’s right for you. It’s time to start thinking ahead.

Love Yourself: Learning to love yourself first is the best thing you could possibly achieve. It never hurts to carve out some alone time; you can use the opportunity to find your peace of mind. It’s important to be able to stand strong on your own. Once you’re comfortable with yourself, you’ll be unstoppable.

This new year remember to be nice, play hard and always smile! What does your ideal 2015 you look like? What steps will you take to get there?
