Tell me a bit about yourself:
“I am a first-term Masters of Library and Information Science (MLIS) student! This is my second degree at Western, as in the spring, I graduated with a BA in psychology and criminology. I’m originally from the GTA, but my family moved to Marshfield, Wisconsin in 2016. Outside of school and Her Campus, I enjoy reading, watching Netflix and spending time with family, friends, my boyfriend, Stuart and our cat, Stan.”
How did you get involved in Her Campus Western?
“I got involved with Her Campus Western in my third year in 2016 when I saw a post about joining on Facebook and haven’t looked back! I’ve held a variety of positions within the chapter, including junior editor, VP Communications, President and co-Campus Correspondent, and now VP Events. I’m also a Chapter Advisor and Region Leader for HC National.”
What’s your favourite article you’ve written for Her Campus Western?
“I really enjoyed writing “35 Ways to Spot a F*ckboy”. For this article, I asked other members to send in their f*ckboy horror stories and I had a great time finding GIFs to go with all the submissions and putting it all together. I also really like “The G Word: Losing my Dad and what I Learned About Grief” because it was my first big article and is about a topic that is really personal and special to me.”
What are you most excited about this year at Her Campus Western?
“I’m most excited to get to know everyone on the team! I’ve met some of my best friends through Her Campus Western and I can’t wait to meet all of the new members and see all of the returning members again!”
What’s your favourite aspect of your program?
“I love how many career paths my program can lead to. With emerging technology and increased digitalization, there are so many options and I’m excited to begin my classes and learn about where my degree can take me.”
What’s your dream job?
“Right now, I’m interested in reference and working in an academic library, but I would also love to be a children’s and teen librarian!”
What are three fun facts about yourself?
“1. I used to drive a Smart Car. 2. I’ve seen every episode of Gilmore Girls at least 10 times. 3. Fall is my favourite season because I love everything pumpkin spice.”
