Packing away
empty parking lots
filled withÂ
lost time
agony
hopelessness
wonder

as the birdsÂ
sing a song
as the sun shines
disregarding the heaviness
in our hearts

growing pains
accompanying unfamiliar change
trying to ground ourselves
in what isn’t guaranteed

where will these feet step tomorrow?
