Midterms, studying for days or hours on end, textbook readings and still trying to have a social life in college is very stressful. Here are some easy ways for collegiettes to take a deep breath and relax!

1. Yoga

Yoga is an excellent and easy way to relax and exercise at the same time! Take a yoga class or search relaxing yoga routines on YouTube. Some relaxing poses include child’s pose, downward facing dog and of course, savasana pose

2. Listening to Music

Listening to music easily distracts you from all of the things that are stressful in your college life. Listen to music that has relaxing melodies, such as Ed Sheeran and Coldplay.

3. Drink Herbal Tea

Drinking herbal tea is a soothing process as it warms your body and soothes your mind. Chamomile tea is the leading herbal tea that promotes relaxation. You can find this tea at your local grocery store labeled as “Sleepy Time Tea,” a decaffeinated chamomile tea mixed with spearmint and lemongrass. Mix it with a spoonful of honey for a bit of sweetness and it’ll help you wind down after a long day!

4. Warm Shower or Bubble Bath

Taking a nice warm shower or bath is one of those cherished moments you can have alone. Showers tend to help you forget about your troubles and focus on the warm water surrounding you. Baths tend to be more relaxing with bubbles, bath bombs and bath salts. Take a long bath or shower and treat yourself after a long day – your mind and body will thank you for it!

5. Exercise

Getting on a treadmill or doing any body exercises or cardio helps you sweat off your worries and it’s a great and healthy way to de-stress. Listen to upbeat music and put yourself in an undefeated state of mind. You can do this!

6. Be One with Nature

Go outside and get some Vitamin D! Simply take a walk or a hike somewhere with beautiful scenery. Being among the leaves, breeze and trees will help bring you to a simpler state of mind.

7. Netflix

Binge watch that new show that has everyone talking about or rewatch your favorite show to put you in that comfortable state of mind. If you don’t feel like watching alone, invite your friends over and make it a Netflix night!
