VSU16! 5 Great Places to Live off Campus

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Valdosta chapter.

Making the decision to move off campus can be both exciting and scary. The exciting part includes getting full freedom (no more annoying check in and check out times!), being able to make your own decisions and completely being able to make a place your own. The scary part is deciding where to stay, what price is best for you and who would make good roommates. Although I can’t help you along the entire way, I can make you more aware of some of your options and what they have to offer!

1. Blanton Common Apartments

Blanton Commons is located a mile and a half away from VSU campus. Amenities include a volleyball court, game room, fitness center, study rooms, tanning beds, clubhouse, a shuttle to and from campus, full private bedrooms and bathrooms and a washer and dryer in every apartment. Because Blanton is a very popular community, it is the perfect place for you if you want to stay close to home and have something to do every weekend.

2. Student Quarters

Student Quarters are five different walking distance communities with floor plans and amenities that can fit nearly any budget. Amenities include individual leases, washers and dryers in every apartment, a roommate matching program, cable TV, etc. Student Quarters are very quiet communities that are perfect if you want to be close and focused on school.

3. The Grove Apartments

The Grove Apartments are resort style apartments located about two miles from VSU campus. Amenities include a sand volleyball court, cable TV, a full basketball court, clubhouse, internet, free parking for every resident, a shuttle to and from campus, air hockey, coffee bar, tavern style game room, fire pit and grilling area, Harvard style library, tanning beds, etc. The Grove is a very private and ducked off community that is perfect for whichever style of living you may be looking for, whether it be quiet and studious or fun filled and lively.

4. Brookstone Apartments

Brookstone apartments are walking distance to the VSU campus and nearly right next door to the University Center. Amenities include an alarm system, a resident matching system, a park-like setting, study nooks in each bedroom, cable, free internet, etc. If you’re looking for an affordable place to stay only steps away from campus, these are the perfect apartments for you.

5. The Residences at Five Points

The Residences at Five Points are luxury apartments located a little less than two miles away from the VSU campus. Amenities include a car wash faculty, fitness and health center, a playground, gas grilling areas, gated access, media center/theater, a pet park, game room, etc. The Residences at Five points is perfect if you want somewhere very upscale and luxurious to stay.

Although these aren’t all the possible places to stay in Valdosta, these are the most popular choices for students. I hope I helped at least a little in your search for somewhere to stay. Happy apartment finding!
