The Post- Game Day Workout: 5 Post-Superbowl Party Exercises

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Valdosta chapter.

After a full day of eating wings and lounging around, you may be feeling really sluggish and really guilty for pigging out on game day. Here are five post-Superbowl workouts that will whip you back into shape in no time!

1. Walking/Jogging

Start your day off with a brisk walk or a jog. This will help you get the day off on a good start and serves as an invigorating warm-up to the rest of the workout and the rest of the day. Don’t forget to stretch!

2. Planks

Planks are great for strengthening your ab muscles! Try holding a plank for at least 1 minute. You should definitely feel the burn, and your stomach will thank you for helping it fight the bulge from your previous Superbowl meal!

3. Jumping Jacks

Jumping jacks are a great way to get your heart pumping and your blood flowing! Try doing at least 50 jumping jacks to kick start the fat burn.

4. Squats

Squats are a great workout for the butt and legs. To really feel the results, try doing three sets of 5-15 squats.

5. Wind Sprints

If you’re really feeling hardcore and want to get an amazing post-game day workout, try doing wind sprints. This is an exercise that I’m sure most football players are familiar with. It requires you to run from one point to another and back, taking breaks between intervals/sets. Below is a video on wind sprints. Of course, you don’t have to run across a whole football field, but try setting shorter checkpoints for yourself and work your way up.

If you’re really crunched on time, and want to get a nice workout in without spending a lot of time, check out this workout by WWE executive, Stephanie McMahon and fitness expert Larysa DiDio:

If you try some of these workouts after the big game day, you’ll be kicking that Superbowl party pudge to the curb!
