How To Reduce Your Stress Levels in 2020

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Valdosta chapter.
Stress is something I and many college students struggle with on a day to day basis. Stress has been proven to lead to many other health issues and nobody needs that. So, here are some tips and tricks to decrease your stress levels in 2020.

1. Bathe

I know it might sound weird but taking a bath can be a great way to relieve tension and stress around the body. Sadly in college, a bathtub isn’t always an option but a hot shower should do the job. A nice warm bubble bath is a great way to take your mind of things that might be bothering you.

2. Listen to soothing music

Sometimes listening to a soothing song can do well to take your mind off a trying situation. Music is a simple way to distance your self from stress and enjoy some much-needed peace of mind.

3. Make a to-do list

Planning out your day and schedule can be a great way to decrease stress on various issues in school most specifically do date and such. Having a to-do list is also a great way to prevent forgetting due date and to be adequately prepared for exams.

4. Have a treat

Treat yourself, you deserve a break. Personally I enjoy a nice bowl of ice cream when I fell stress or overwhelmed on an issue.

5. Don’t let it get to you

Stress can encourage negative thoughts that have no place in your life. Try to be as positive as you can, and remember this trial cant and won’t last forever.

6. Switch it up/ take a break

Sometimes to decrease your stress you need to stop what you’re doing. Whether that is working out or painting a picture, taking your mind off of things works wonders on reducing your stress levels.

Some days, I just wanna leave the negativity in my head I just want relief from my stress I just want relief from my stress (Oh) Some days, I don’t wanna see or Have a bunch of people to impress I just want relief from my stress Yeah, I just want relief from my stress
