7 Amazing Fall Foods to Try Right Now

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Valdosta chapter.

It’s that time of year again when those spontaneous food cravings seem to creep up on you. The unbearable desire for sweet potatoes and pumpkin can get a little out of hand. Lucky for you, I’ve put together a list of seven amazing recipes that’ll tackle your fall foodie needs.

Pumpkin Spice or Maple Pecan Latte anyone?

Who doesn’t love a good pumpkin spice latte? The pumpkin-y goodness is one of Starbucks signature fall beverages. However, this year, Starbucks has come out with a new fall favorite, the Maple Pecan Latte! It’s an espresso and steamed milk drink mixed with maple syrup flavor and pecan.

“The tarter the apple, the tastier the cider.” -Beverly Lewis

Imagine this, you’re sitting in the middle of the floor in your favorite go-to sweater and fuzzy socks. Your textbooks laid out around you, and Christmas music quietly playing, a month too early, in the background. You reach over to brag your warm drink to ward off the chills. What is it? Why apple cider of course. It’s the fall drink for warm cozy feels.

When life gives you lemons, make beef stew!

Now I’m not a big fan of soup, but this beef stew is one for the record books. The chunks of potato, carrot, and butternut squash add to the heartiness of the meal. If you aren’t a beef eater, I think chicken could be a good substitute.

Roasted Beef Tenderloin, please.

This very simple, pan roasted meal takes you no more than an hour to prepare. Paired with a nice glass of wine, this meal sets the bar for fall favorites.

Yes, I used all of the carrots.

Carrot cake, yes! We’re finally getting to the really good stuff (rubs hands like Birdman). I love desserts and because of my dad, I really love carrot cake, well the batter at least. This is a recipe I know like the back of my hands! I’d share it with you, buuuut it’s a secret. So instead here is another recipe I’m sure is just as good.

Sweet Potato Pie, oh my!

You ever had that one really good slice of sweet potato pie that just literally changed your life? Yeah, me neither. But don’t let that stop you because it won’t stop the pie eaters. I’ve honestly never tried sweet potato pie, let alone sweet potatoes. Maybe this year I’ll give it a try.

Eat Pie, Drink Wine

In this case, eat pie with vanilla ice cream. There is nothing like a slice of apple pie fresh out of the oven with a bowl of vanilla bean ice cream. It puts me in the mood, my happy place. This is when I know fall has finally hit.
