Essential Oils That Can Better Your Day

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Utah chapter.

Lets face it, as collegiettes’ we have a lot going on! Many of us live off of coffee, energy drinks, ibuprofen, and basically an assortment of things that fill our bodies with chemicals. What many people don’t know is there are many natural options that can help make our days so much better while also boosting our immune system!

DoTerra’s Motivate

The first oil is one that I have absolutely fallen in love with. It is from the company DoTerra and it is a blend called ‘Motivate.’ It consists of mint, citrus and does exactly what the name says, motivates you to do better! I put it on my neck andchest multiple times a day while studying for a boost, plus it smells really good!

Peppermint

When I have had a long day of staring at a computer screen, I start to get headaches. By putting Peppermint on the temples of your head you start to feel immediate relief. You can use peppermint for a variety of uses I mostly use it for congestion, sinus, and stomach problems. Such a better and natural alternative to constantly taking different medicines!

Lavender

When I have a difficult time sleeping or am feeling anxious, I use lavender. Applying it on your pillow, bottom of your feet, or putting a couple of drops into your bath before bed is a great way to wind down. Not only does it have a fresh smell but it also has proven benefits such as the instant relaxation benefit!

Melaleuca

Melaleuca has been used for centuries to protect from environmental factors and decrease skin irritations. With the bad air quality and everyone getting sick it is perfect to get you through winter!

DoTerra’s On Guard

On Guard, another blend from DoTerra, is one that I swear by. Its purpose is to act as a natural DayQuil and an immune booster. I have it in toothpaste and also diffuse it in my room every night. From someone who used to get sick all the time I have seen a huge difference since I have started using this daily.

As you can see essential oils has become apart of my daily routine. Although they work wonders for me, it is important to remember that they are not FDA approved and to be careful where you buy from, especially online! They may seem like a pricey investment they can be used for an assortment of different uses, as shown here!
