“Dirty Water” by Michal Mitchell
I drink from a broken glass,
As people quench their violent thirst,
Await alone in a deepened corner, for there is no more a bitter taste,
A taste for life and smiles of warmth,
Ones that don’t seem fake to the surface,
And I drink shards too small been seen,
And they unbeknownst sink deep inside me,
They cut my lip and slice my heart,
And my brain quivers to rage from anger,
I look and see with fragile eyes,
The ones with Crystal glass,
With purified hearts, eyes unfaltered,
As I sit and drink my dirty water.
