UNL Her Campus is making a comeback for the Spring 2019 semester! The team is growing and learning as we reach for new heights! New Campus Correspondent Halie Lewin is ready to make the semester and future bright for UNL Her Campus.
Halie has recently taken on the role of a Co-Campus Correspondent. She joined Her Campus her freshman year at UNL because her best friend since middle school, Mickayla Yard, suggested the organization. Her campus appealed to Halie because she loves to write. Her top articles include “Why Young Women Should be Armed” and Why Runza is Nebraska’s Finest.” She is looking forward to writing more article for UNL Her Campus and leading the chapter.
Halie is double majoring in Political Science and Economics. She is in her second year at the University. After graduating, She plans to use her degree to pursue politics and civil service. Her interests in these degrees began when she was younger following presidential campaigns and elections. She chose it for her career path after taking civics and economics in high school with one of her favorite teachers.
Her favorite part about UNL is the bell tower that chimes music including Harry Potter and Disney. She chose to attend UNL because of the school’s cost-effective tuition and proximity to home. Outside of Her Campus and school, Halie’s hobbies include sewing, politics, and watching the Office over and over. Halie’s biggest goal for Her Campus this semester is to create a lasting program full of support and friendships.
Regarding her new role and the current semester, Halie stated, “I am so excited to work with the Her Campus team at UNL. I think this semester shows a lot of promise.” We can’t wait to see What the UNL Her campus team brings in the near future!
