Coming back after spring break it always seems like all motivation was left on vacation. Stress can completely take over and it’s easy to get overwhelmed with finals around the corner and work piling up. To help de-stress here are 7 tips for a stress-free “final stretch”:

  • Make a list:

Lists are a great visual tool to help you organize everything you need to get done. Having a list makes life feel a little less chaotic and a lot more able to conquer. Plus, there isn’t a better feeling than taking a huge red pen and marking something OFF the list!

  • Go to the gym:

Another great way to relieve stress is to sweat it out. Exercising releases feel-good endorphins which help you feel better about yourself and the day. There are so many fun ways to workout whether it’s biking, running, swimming, or just going for a walk with your friends they are all a perfect solution to release stress.

  • Watch a show:

Netflix is a great way to get your mind off things. Make time to watch a T.V. show or YouTube videos and just relax. One of my favorite shows is The Office on Netflix; it’s ridiculously funny and a good distracter for stressful times.

  • Splurge a little:

Even though we’re all in college and the bank account seems to get smaller and smaller there’s no harm in window shopping. Going downtown or looking online is always a go-to for me! If clothes are not your thing, everyone loves FOOD! Get that milkshake you’ve been craving and don’t forget when “it’s 5 o’clock somewhere”, especially in Wilmington, tacos only cost $1 at Islands!!

  • Color a picture:

As childish as it sounds pull out some crayons or color pencils and start coloring. An old childhood activity can be so relaxing and takes almost no effort at all. If you’re looking for an easy way to stop stressing, break out the crayons and trust me on this one.

  • Take a NAP:

Do I really need to say any more? Find a stopping place in your pile of work and just take a nap. Whether it’s 30 minutes or 2 hours everyone needs a good refresher. The work you do when you’re tired isn’t your best work anyway, so there’s is no harm in taking a nap to re-energize.

  • Go to the beach:

We live in a town where the beach is 10 minutes away! Take advantage of it. The waves are calling … go answer! Even though it’s ridiculously cold outside, for now anyway, the beach is the perfect place to sit, relax and drink a coffee or read a book. Whatever relaxes you is 10X better on the beach, especially when the sun’s out!

Hope these tips help you have a stress-free final stretch! Y’all got this!
