Taking care of oneself is one of those things that people usually forget to do during their day to day life due to the struggles and things that come along that may not have originally been planned for. Even though it is something that most individuals forget about it is a crucial step to a healthy life because without self care people can sometimes feel overwhelmed or stressed.

Self care is the ability to sit back a time for just yourself and to unwind in a way in which you feel relaxed or to do something to treat yourself for the work you have done. Self care is a healthy and normal way for individual to care for themselves when things seem to get to be too much for them.

There are a few tasks that a individual can do to relax themselves in self care tactics. These tactics are:

  • Taking baths
  • Meditation
  • Reading a book
  • Spending time with family
  • Listening to music
  • Drinking wine
  • Going shopping
  • Getting your hair/nails done
  • And more

The list could go on and on depending on what a person decides is relaxing for them. Self care is a good way to unwind after a long day of classes or work, a fight with a coworker or partner or sibling, a exam, or any other stressful event that may arise.

The idea of self care may be skewed for some people and may seem unnecessary but it can be beneficial instead and it is something that I recommend individuals to practice rather life is to it a stressful moment or not. Mainly because this one practice can allow someone to become more compassionate, less stressed, more understanding and happier in the things that they do along with having a more positive outlook.
