Starting in high school, several people adapt their schedules to exclude one of the most important parts of a healthy lifestyle: breakfast. Here are some quick, simple and nutritious breakfast ideas that will provide you with energy to start your day on a high note.

Almond Butter Toast

Starting off the morning with a sweet tooth is not necessarily a bad thing. Craving sugar in the morning is a great way to get your daily serving of fruits in. Bananas on their own are a great source of energy in the mornings. However, pairing them with toast and a nut butter incorporate healthy carbs, protein and fats to have a well-rounded meal. The combination of the crunchy toast, creamy nut butter and sweet banana create a well-balanced, delicious breakfast that can be ready in minutes.

For those of you who are not fans of meat-based breakfasts or who are plant-based, protein powder is a great addition to overnight oats. Protein powder is so versatile with the countless flavor options. Finding a flavor combination that works for you can make eating a bland bowl of oats ten times better. This high protein breakfast takes minutes to prep the night before. The morning of calls for loading up on numerous toppings.

Omelets

For those of you who prefer savory options for breakfast, there are plenty of these as well. Omelets are a high protein breakfast option that are filling and nutritious. They are also a great way to get a head start on your vegetable intake for the day. From spinach and peppers to ham and cheese, there are so many mix-ins to choose from. By switching up the toppings, there are so many variations that you can create to avoid tiring one distinct version.

Avocado Toast

Another savory option focuses more on incorporating your greens. Avocado toast is a quick breakfast option that can be thrown together with ingredients that are most likely in your pantry. This breakfast can be made with as little as two ingredients or as many as you would like. Avocado and toast being the base, there are so many options to spice up this simple meal.
