This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UH chapter.

Irina Alejandro is one of our lovely writers at HCUH! She joined the team this semester and has contributed great content to share to our readers!

Irina is a freshman majoring in political science and hoping to minor in both international affairs and woman and gender studies.

Her passion for writing gets to be spread through not only Her Campus, but at The Cougar as a news writer and a music blogger for Coog Radio. Being a part of all these different publications gives Irina a chance to express topics that most interest her.

Just like many of us Irina spends a lot of her time doing homework, but in those much need homework breaks she enjoys embroidering and art.

As a freshman Irina is much more involved than most students and that stems from her love of the diversity of campus.

“You meet so many people that come from different backgrounds, and it lets you step outside of yourself to learn more about different cultures,” says Irina.

After receiving her bachelor’s degree Irina plans on either going to law school or getting a master’s in public policy.

“I hope one day I’m able to work in the White House,” says Irina.

There is no doubt that she is off to a great start!

"Writing means sharing. It's part of the human condition to want to share things - thoughts, ideas, opinions."
