Stressed? Dance It Out With These 19 Jams

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UFL chapter.

As the semester starts winding down, stress usually revs up. From holidays to final exams, the final stretch of the semester is enough to make anyone feel overwhelmed and stuck. When I’m stressed and in need of an escape from essays, assignments and planning ahead for exams, I turn to music. Sometimes it’s soft music to relax my mind after cramming too much information and other times I need something to get me off my feet. That’s right, it’s time to dance!

Let’s loosen up those limbs and dance like nobody’s watching. When you’re feeling stressed and overwhelmed turn up your favorite jams and release those endorphins. Your body and mind will thank you. I’ve compiled a list of 19 songs that I love to jam out to. Maybe these songs aren’t your groove, but find anything that makes you swing your hips and dance like crazy. Here are my jams:

1. My Humps by The Black Eyed Peas

2. Run It! by Chris Brown

3. Love Don’t Cost A Thing by Jennifer Lopez

4. Hey Ya! by OutKast

5. Uptown Funk by Mark Ronson ft. Bruno Mars

6. Sorry Not Sorry by Demi Lovato

7. CAN’T STOP THE FEELING by Justin Timberlake

8. The Anthem by Pitbull ft. Lil John

9. Sexual Healing – Kygo Remix by Marvin Gaye

10. Pon de Replay by Rihanna

11. Sexy Back by Justin Timberlake

12. September by Earth, Wind & Fire

13. Buttons by The Pussycat Dolls ft. Snoop Dogg

14. Bye Bye Bye by NSYNC

15. Fergalicious by Fergie

16. Rock Your Body by Justin Timberlake

17. Toxic by Britney Spears

18. You Should Be Dancing by Bee Gees

19. Sneakernight by Vanessa Hudgens

You’ll feel amazing after a wild dance session. There’s something liberating about dancing to your heart’s content without worrying how your moves look or if you’re singing at the top of your lungs off-key. Give yourself a much needed break and break out those dance moves. Happy dancing!
