If I’m being honest, I’ve spent the past year completely losing myself. Being fresh out of an unhealthy situation means stepping into my self-improvement era, where I’m learning to heal and enhance all areas of my life. From relationships to career goals and everything in between, a passionate love of mine that’s helped me on this journey of rediscovery are podcasts.

Whether I’m getting chores done or embarking on a solo road trip, I’ve learned so much from tuning into strangers spilling the tea about their lives, experiences, and the wonderful world around us. I’ve even been inspired to start a podcast of my own this year!

There’s no shame in being a work-in-progress, and in celebration of Women’s History Month, I want to raise the volume on the voices of women who have made this process so much easier for me. Here are five women-hosted podcasts that have motivated me to become a better, healthier version of myself.

For The Girls

When I’m stressing over a man and need someone to tell me to STAND UP, Victoria Alario is my girl. Aside from relationships, For The Girls also highlights confidence, self-love, prosperity, career goals, and so much more. As a confidence coach, Victoria gets straight to business about how you can become “the woman of your dreams.” I’ve gained so much insight about the value of my time, energy, standards, and self-worth from listening to this podcast, so if you want to start to transform into your best self, For The Girls is for you.

POV: You’re My Therapist

Welcome to the podcast where Divine vents, we listen, and we do not get paid. Honestly, I wouldn’t want this dynamic any other way. Whereas other podcasts offer advice, Divine offers the honest truth. Sometimes life is hard and we just need someone to listen to us — hot girls get sad too! Every time I listen to POV: You’re My Therapist, I feel as if I’m on the phone with a close friend who I can laugh with and who will understand every messy thought in my head. By being authentically herself, Divine creates a safe space for self-reflection and an experience that is gentle and therapeutic.

Goes Without Saying

It goes without saying that British besties and co-hosts Sephy and Wing aren’t afraid to speak about whatever’s on their minds. This hilarious and inquisitive duo is sure to pull you in with their clever and catchy episode titles (I’m still thinking about “It’s Time To BeReal-ly Insecure”) and their infectious laughter, banter, and introspection will leave you wanting more. From discussions about anxiety to self-love and Taylor Swift, Goes Without Saying is the niche podcast for all niches that provides me with the emotional support I need to get through my day.

Not Your Typical

Self-improvement requires self-care. Youtuber and personal trainer Katelynn Nolan has the motivation you need to start treating your mind, body, and soul with the tender, loving care it deserves. Not Your Typical has stood out to me from other health and wellness podcasts in how genuine the conversations are. Katelynn prioritizes balance over everything else, which is essential for avoiding burnout and exhaustion. After each listen, I feel renewed and inspired to become my most productive and fulfilled self.

Skinny Dipping

As I heal and release myself from the unhealthy patterns and habits I’ve picked up over the years, Skinny Dipping welcomes me with open arms. With informative discussions on mental health, self-care, emotional regulation, and more, Kela Rose uses science and spirituality to help us confront our deep-rooted issues so that we may plant a new seed for growth. Kela is honest about her own personal struggles that led her to her spiritual journey, and Skinny Dipping encourages us to strip down to our most vulnerable selves to heal from the inside out.

With the help of these powerful women-led podcasts, I’m encouraged to grow mentally and cultivate the best version of myself every day. I hope they inspire you as well!
