5 Apps/YouTube Channels To Stay Fit This February

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Mich chapter.

Staying fit is a great resolution that most of us inevitably end up breaking by February. At least for me, it’s not as much about laziness as it is about convenience. There is no way I’m walking 10+ minutes away in this slushy weather outside to go to the gym and back. So, I’ve found some great free apps that you can use in order to stay fit this February:

1.  7 Minutes

This free app comes in a 7 Minutes Women version as well as a standard version. It’s great if you are interested in High Intensity Interval Training (or HIIT) workouts. With workouts that are only 7-8 minutes in length, and 10 second breaks between exercises, this workout can be easily customized to your schedule – do 2 or 3 rounds if you have time, but even 7 minutes is enough. There are a variety of workouts on the app, such as ab, yoga, and full body sweat

2.  Blogilates

Fitness trainer Cassey Ho brings to life various workouts – HIIT, pilates, specific body areas, or cardio. She also includes monthly calendars for you to workout to as well as meal plans if you’re looking to get a little healthier! I personally love to use her YouTube channel, but the app is great too.

3.  Aaptiv

Aaptiv is a great audio-based fitness app. You get unlimited access to countless fitness classes (ranging from cardio to yoga to stretching) as well as playlists synchronized to the classes. You can even download the classes if you do not have Wi-Fi. It’s like having a personal trainer in your earphones!

4.  Freeletics Bodyweight

This app offers 10-30 minute workouts based solely on your bodyweights with more than 900 workout variations. It comes with tutorial videos and you can integrate it with Apple Health.

5.  Interval Timer – HIIT Workouts

This is a great app just if you want to create your own workouts but do not want to have to set the stopwatch on your phone every time you begin a new exercise! This handy app allows you to set different schedules for different workouts and at different times.

This is NOT an exhaustive list – just from my experience. Play around on the Apple/Android stores and see what great fitness apps you can discover! Happy exercising :)
