For many of us, losing those extra pounds means eating healthier, going to the gym more often, and maybe even getting on a diet.
This seemingly endless struggle for a healthier self can be challenging, and downright discouraging when the results we want seem to be out of reach.
But don’t be discouraged, because when it comes to weight loss a positive outlook might be all you need to get yourself into shape.
Feeling happy about your body helps increase your energy level and motivates you into staying on task with healthy activities such as eating better and exercising more. Negative emotions are not only distracting but they tend to cause stress which can contribute to weight gain if dealt with improperly.
Develop ways to think positively about yourself, make a list of the things you like about your body, and then spend some time in front of the mirror just appreciating what you listed. Naturally, you’ll have negative thoughts from time to time, but having a positive outlook will help you look to the future and make better choices for your life and fitness.
Keep negative thoughts at bay, and remember the most important thing for any weight loss regimen is health, both physical and mental.
Good luck, Collegiettes!
