It is finally that time of year when my seasonal depression starts to disappear. Thank god. I never thought seasonal depression was real until I realized any day it was above 50 degrees and sunny, I was 1000x happier. Spring signals finals, sunny skies, pink trees, and the warning sign that summer is close. Here are a couple of songs that I love to listen to during spring.

“Good Days” – SZA

Any time this song is played, I am immediately flushed with serotonin. I have screamed this song way too many times and especially love to sing it in the car with the music on blast. This song screams hope and positivity and signals that “good days” are coming soon.

“Brazil” – Declan Mckenna

This song is a masterpiece and an anthem that I played all the time last summer and spring. Although this song can remind me of summer, I have changed my opinion on it because I found listening to it in spring makes me even more excited for summer rather than listening to it during summer itself.

“Feels like summer” – Childish Gambino

This song is in my opinion the ultimate song to listen to with the windows down and the music blasting. Childish Gambino is a musical mastermind, and this song captures the perfect feeling for when it feels like summer, but we’re still not quite there yet. As Childish Gambino sings, “You can feel it in the streets, On a day like this, the heat, It feels like summer.”

“Cigarette Daydreams” – cage the elephant

This song is the perfect anthem to go along with a cute picnic outside. The first couple of picnics outside after being enclosed for a couple of months are always the best. The music of course has to go along with this and amplify the already amazing feeling the picnic brings.

“Kilby Girl” – the backseat lovers

I just discovered the backseat lovers a couple of months ago and have been obsessed with them ever since. Kilby Girls’ build-up is perfect and reminds me of the similar buildup winter brings. This song is perfect for a walk with headphones by yourself but can also be the perfect anthem to shout with your friends. Songs that can be screamed or hummed to are hard to find, but The Backseat Lovers create this perfect mixture.

“Can i call you tonight” – dayglow

Can I call you tonight dayglow is one of my spring favorites. Its upbeat melody and soothing tone definitely resemble the vibes that spring brings. Not only this, but its beat is infectious and It is so catchy I find myself humming its tune all the time.

Spring embodies good vibes and that summer is coming so soon. Finding songs to capture this feeling can be hard but when it comes to any of these amazing artists, I know that any vibe I feel can be embodied by their music. Music is such an amazing outlet or pairing that can be accompanied by anything, even a season!
