Self-love is a life-long project. That said, we all forget it at times and need to refocus! Well, here I am to encourage you to make self-love a priority in February. In a month so centered around romantic love, it’s important to remember to take care of yourself. I’ve made a playlist of songs to help me and you on that journey… you can find it on Spotify here too!

Some of them are soft and gentle. Some are fierce and defiant. Just like us. Chin up, girlie. You’ve got this!

“Good As Hell” – Lizzo

Come now, come dry your eyes

You know you a star, you can touch the sky

I know that it’s hard but you have to try

If you need advice, let me simplify

“Never Give Up” – Sia

I’ve battled demons that won’t let me sleep

Called to the sea but she abandoned me

But I won’t never give up, no, never give up

“Survivor” – Destiny’s Child

After of all of the darkness and sadness

Soon comes happiness

If I surround myself with positive things I’ll gain prosperity

“Love Myself” – Hailee Steinfeld

Gonna love myself

No, I don’t need anybody else

“Fight Song” – Rachel Platten

This is my fight song

Take-back-my-life song

Prove-I’m-alright song

My power’s turned on

Starting right now I’ll be strong

“That’s My Girl” – Fifth Harmony

Who’s been working so damn hard?

You got that head on overload

Got yourself this flawless body

Aching now from head to toe

“Getting Better” – The Beatles

I’ve got to admit it’s getting better

It’s a little better all the time

It can’t get no worse

I have to admit it’s getting better

It’s getting better

Since you’ve been mine

“Born This Way” – Lady Gaga

Don’t hide yourself in regret

Just love yourself and you’re set

I’m on the right track, baby

I was born this way

“Send My Love (To Your New Lover)” – Adele

I’m giving you up

I’ve forgiven it all

You set me free

Send my love to your new lover

Treat her better

We’ve gotta let go of all of our ghosts

“Feelin’ Myself” – Nicki Minaj feat. Beyoncé

Cause we dope girls we flawless

We the poster girls for all this

“Dirty Gold” – Angel Haze

Never forget the importance of the sparks you hold

Don’t sell your soul, baby, you are dirty gold

“Brave” – Sara Bareilles

Don’t run, stop holding your tongue

Maybe there’s a way out of the cage where you live

Maybe one of these days you can let the light in

Show me how big your brave is

“Scars To Your Beautiful” – Alessia Cara

So to all the girls that’s hurting

Let me be your mirror, help you see a little bit clearer

The light that shines within

There’s a hope that’s waiting for you in the dark

You should know you’re beautiful just the way you are

“Battle Cry” – Angel Haze feat. Sia

There ain’t material things in the world

That can change the fact that you feel lonely

Despite the fact that it gets hard, you take it all and you still go

Take the sun and you still grow, lose the light and you still glow

I been there, I’m still here and I know how you feel

“How Far I’ll Go” – Auli’i Cravalho

See the line where the sky meets the sea?

It calls me

And no one knows, how far it goes

If the wind in my sail on the sea stays behind me

One day I’ll know, if I go there’s just no telling how far I’ll go

What songs remind you to love yourself?
