Whether you are in a mandatory quarantine or a self-imposed one, a fun way to break up the day is to do one or two spa/self-care treatments every day. Everything from pampering your skin, hair and teeth can all be done at home. Even removing unwanted hair away!

Some of these you can do every day, some only a few times a week and others as often as you want to but regardless adding a self-care treatment every day can help you relax and give you something to look forward to every day.

Light therapy is a great way to get similar professional spa treatments at home. LED Technologies has two brands, DPL for pain and ReVive Light Therapy for beauty, that  makes a variety of led devices that are great for self-care and are FDA approved. The Founder/CEO Lloyd Nelson states “FDA clearance and Innovation is our primary separator. There are many light-based products out in the market primarily from Asia that do not have FDA clearance like all of our products. This means our devices are proven to be both safe and effective for the intended use.” Needless to say, you want to make sure that whatever devices you use are not just effective, but safe.

If you are used to getting your pores cleared out at a spa or even treatments at your local beauty store you can still get that done at home. Three times a week you can use Dermaflash’s Dermapore. It is an ultra-sonic device that that cleans out your pores and lets you infuse serums. It is very easy to use; after washing your face (you need to make sure that your face is completely wet and stays wet during the treatment) just press the button once, for the extract mode, which is also indicated by a white light then glide the wand on your face with medium pressure and the stuff inside your skin will be on the spatula. I loved how clean and fresh my skin felt afterwards. There was no redness or irritation. Make sure you clean the spatula with alcohol or soap and water before you infuse your skin with a serum. You put the serum on your face and repeat. If there is any left-over serum just pat the remaining serum onto your skin.

Something else you can do is a facial tea steam. Hot water/steam is great for opening up your pores, but a facial tea takes it one step further and allows you to have more of a spa experience. I love the Teami Detox Facial Steam Tea. It has eucalyptus, white sage leaf and lemon balm. You just need to take 1-2 tablespoons and 3-4 cups of boiling water and let the tea steep for five minutes in a large bowl. Then take a towel that is large enough to cover your face and the bowel. They recommend that you keep your face 8-10 inches from the bowl. It is a great way to not only treat your skin but to help you relax.

On a separate day you can exfoliate your skin. My favorite brand to use is Cure. It’s the number one skin exfoliator in Japan. Cure Aqua Gel is very easy to use and is gentle on skin. You can actually use it on your body as well. First you wet your skin and use 3-5 pumps and gently rub in a circular motion. It leaves your skin very smooth, soft and hydrated.

DPL has an Oral Care Device for Healthy Teeth & Gums, which is not only great at helping with oral pain but also helps with oral health for healthier gums and fresher breath. If you use whitening gels or toothpaste the blue led lights are also extremely effective in helping them  work better. All you have to do is make sure the device is charged and clean before putting it in your mouth, then just turn it on. It is that easy! It is quick and easy to use. It doesn’t hurt and works extremely well at everything it promises to do.

A lot of people like to use lip plumper’s or even injections that you may not be able to get during these times. Luckily, there is a device called The Lip Care System. It is described as a device that can plump your lips by using lights to build collagen and get rid of fine lines without the use of fillers. The CEO of ReVive Light Therapy/DPL says “the Lip Care System is a perfect example of LED Technologies noticing a beauty trend with fully youthful lips and the effort consumers were putting forth to achieve that effect. We discovered that we could provide an all-natural method to achieve the desired effect with light.  We are continually looking for ways to use technology to naturally enhance our lives.”

Since hair salons have closed you may think that you won’t be able to get that trim. Taking a hair scissor to your own hair yourself can be a bit risky, if you happened to give yourself bangs in middle school you know the dangers. I personally hate split ends and if I wait too long to cut them my hair gets frizzy. However I came across this device called The Split Ender Pro /Pro 2 and it takes 1/4 or 1/8 off of your hair depending on the model you buy. Your hair needs to be clean, completely dry and without creams and serums. I personally like to straighten my hair before using the machine but that’s just me. You have to section your hair off and go over each section three times and empty the chamber when you are done. This is a great way to keep your hair healthy while waiting for the salons to re-open.

While we are on the topic of ridding unwanted hair away- if you are uncomfortable using traditional wax, you can always use wax strips, which take all the stress and mess out of the equation. But if waxing is just not your thing you don’t necessarily have to figure out how to wax yourself at home either. Some great options to remove hair at home are tweezers or razors, which do NOT make the hair grow thicker, and hair removal cream such as the well-known Nair. Once you remove the hair a great way to help yourself is to apply a cream or gel that can help stop hair from re-growing. Inhibitif Intimate Care from The Chemistry Brand is absolutely amazing. You apply it once a day to shaved or waxed Intimate areas. It is non-irritating and is  great even for sensitive skin, but they do recommend that you do a patch test first. It doesn’t have a strong scent, and feels moisturizing.

Letting your curls flow like Vanessa Hudgens or Ariana Grande doesn’t mean you can’t tame them! CHI recently came out with a line of haircare products for curls that contain aloe. CHI Aloe Vera is basically said to be 90% or more natural. The is a 7-piece collection that  has everything from shampoo and conditioner to creams, curl reactivating spray and a leave-in-conditioner. The products help nourish your curls while keeping them tamed. If you are a fan of Moroccan oil curl products then you will love these they do the same thing for ¼ of the price ranging from $7-12.50 and are available at Ulta.

If you want to give your hair and scalp some extra love Vitabrid C12 has launched their 1st Shampoo Shot Line. There is a purifying shot as well as a deep cleansing shot, which are meant to be added to your shampoo. They serve to get rid of dead skin without stripping moisture. In addition, they calm irritation so your scalp can be healthy. They are currently on sale for a limited time for $23.50 each.

I hope these suggestions help you to maintain some normalcy in your beauty routine and help make your day more fun while you are chilling at home voluntarily or involuntarily.
