We are all in need of a boost sometimes. Through the midst of our semester, we all need a pick me up to keep us going. Let’s face it, I will take the motivation anywhere I can get. Here are a few of my current inspiring quotes that lift my spirits and remind me to stop doubting myself, worrying or having a negative mindset.

“Stop shrinking to fit places you’ve outgrown.”

When I look back, I really have changed throughout college. Not in any specific way, but overall as a person. It’s hard to explain, but it is also super important to realize that it is okay to change and figure out who you are or are not.

“We either make ourselves miserable or we make ourselves strong. The amount of work is the same.”

Over the past four years in college, I’ve learned that life is all about mindset. We can choose to be miserable and hate everything about college, or we can embrace it. Through all of the studying, cramming, drama, and stress, choose to laugh it out and work hard. It’s totally valid to feel whatever we are feeling, but realize that it is not permanent, and you will overcome whatever your struggling with.

“You won’t get much done if you grind only on the days you feel good.”

We are all going to have to study when we don’t want to. We all have to do things we don’t want to do. It’s those days that make us better students and workers in the long run.

“Studying doesn’t suck as much as failing.”

Not all quotes are super inspiring, but simply tell it like it is. This quote is like that. You can either study now or regret it when you get an F in the class. Don’t put yourself in that position.

“Put your hair up in a bun, drink some coffee, and handle it.”

This by far is my favorite quote. It’s so relatable and blunt. I think of this quote when I need something to snap me out of my mental breakdown. When it’s the day before a 10-page paper is due and you are on the verge of tears, I read this quote and tell myself, stop being a baby, stop your complaining and just do it.

We all have our ups and downs in college. It’s unavoidable. Sometimes inspirational quotes are not enough to make us feel better, which is okay. However, maybe they are that little push we need to get through finals week (or any week). We’ve got this Seawolves!

President/Editor-in-Chief here at the Her Campus Stony Brook Chapter! I joined Her Campus in Spring 2018 as a Junior Writer and I am currently majoring in Journalism with a minor in Political Science. My personality is somewhere between Rachel Green and Phoebe Buffay. I call that balance. In my free time you can find me doing... I'm a college student, if I appear to have any free time I'm probably procrastinating.
