How to Make Your Workout More Enjoyable

Now that the cold weather is starting to set in and exercising outside is becoming more difficult, we are faced with a new challenge: the gym. I think most of us have probably  dreaded the gym at some point, and maybe even considered eating food in the comforts of our beds instead. This list will give you new ideas of ways to enjoy your workout and maybe even actually look forward to sweating.

Create or find a good playlist

Music is key to keeping your workout energized. Without the right music you can feel slow and unmotivated. Spotify is a great app that already has playlists created!

Find a friend to workout with

Sometimes all we need is a buddy to push us to keep going. There are so many different exercises that you can do with a friend that will keep your workout fun and your mind preoccupied!

Plan out your workout ahead of time

Nothing is more stressful than trying to think of exercises to do on the spot. Planning what you’re going to do in the gym the night before is helpful to keep you moving and motivated the next day.

Update your workout gear

New clothes often boost our self-esteem and provide motivation to get active! So treat yourself to a couple of new outfits and head to the gym feeling good about yourself.

Set Realistic Goals

Goals keep you reaching for something. To keep yourself motivated about going to the gym, set aside a couple of minutes each day to write down what you want to achieve from your workouts that week!

Find what works for you

Not everyone is the same! It’s important to find a routine that works specifically for you. Once you find that routine, it will help you to face the gym all winter long!
