Your ultimate reset routine for starting the semester feeling confident, refreshed, and ready.
Sunday is supposed to be the day to relax, sleep in and enjoy the last bit of your weekend. But for college students, Sunday can quickly become the day when you realize Monday is right around the corner. Between classes, assignments, work and everything else happening during the semester, it is easy to start feeling stressed before the week even begins. Instead of spending Sunday worrying about everything you have to do, turn it into your personal reset day.
Make Sunday Your Self-Care Day
One of my favorite ways to deal with the Sunday Scaries is to take time for myself and focus on feeling good. I like using Sundays to do my weekly waxing routine and take care of some of the beauty things that I might not have time for during the week. I also like doing my eyelash clusters. Having my lashes done makes me feel more put together and gives me that extra boost of confidence going into a new week.
After that, I like taking a long shower and doing my skincare routine. I will moisturize, take care of my hair and basically do all the little things that make me feel refreshed. These routines might seem small, but they can make a big difference in my mood. There is something about taking the time to take care of yourself that makes you feel like you are starting the week with a clean slate.
Make Yourself Feel and Look Amazing
Self-care is not just about looking good. It is also about doing things that make you feel confident and comfortable in your own skin. When I take time on Sunday to do my beauty routine, I feel more prepared for the week because I know I have already taken care of myself.
I also like putting on my favorite perfume or body mist after getting ready. Having a scent that makes you feel good can become part of your routine and make getting ready for the week feel more exciting. Put on some music, watch something you enjoy, have a little dance party or do some karaoke while getting ready. Sunday self-care should feel fun, not like another assignment you have to complete.
Pick an Outfit You’re Excited to Wear
Another thing that helps me feel ready for Monday is picking out an outfit that I actually want to wear. Instead of waking up Monday morning and staring at my closet trying to figure out what looks good, I choose my outfit ahead of time.
I like putting together something that makes me feel cute and confident while still being comfortable enough for a full day of classes. It could be a favorite pair of jeans, a cute top, jewelry, shoes, or even just an outfit that I have been waiting for an excuse to wear. Having everything picked out makes Monday morning easier, and knowing that I have an outfit I love gives me something small to look forward to.
Get Your Week Together
After taking care of myself, I like making sure I am prepared for the week. I check my schedule, look at upcoming assignments, pack my school bag and make sure I have everything I need. I do not try to plan every single minute of my week because that can make me feel more stressed. I just want to have an idea of what is coming so I am not caught off guard.
Getting things ready the night before also means I can spend less time rushing Monday morning. Instead of searching for my clothes, school supplies, or anything else I need, I can wake up, get ready and leave feeling more relaxed.
Give Yourself Something to Look Forward To
Finally, remember that Monday does not have to be completely about school. Give yourself little things to look forward to. Maybe it is getting your favorite drink before class, listening to your favorite playlist on the way to campus, seeing your friends, or wearing the outfit you picked out the night before.
The Sunday Scaries are a normal part of college life, but they do not have to take over your weekend. By turning Sunday into a personal reset day, you can take care of yourself, get organized, and start the week feeling confident. Whether it is doing your weekly waxing, putting on your eyelash clusters, having a full self-care routine, or simply picking out an outfit that makes you feel amazing, those little things can make a stressful Monday feel much easier.
Sometimes, getting through the week starts with how you spend your Sunday.
