4 Things to Focus on Before Finals Week Hits

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at SLU chapter.

1. Ration your time

The next couple weeks might feel overwhelming because of all the things you think you need to do. But, it’s not as difficult as you think to get everything done. Try writing everything down, and then sectioning off a couple of things to do every day so that you don’t put everything off until the last minute. This will not only reduce stress but also make you more productive because you will focus on what you can do today and not everything overall.

2. Clean your room

If you ever feel like you’re in a slump, try cleaning your room. It will make you feel more productive and will help you get going on everything else you need to do.

3. Take care of yourself

Finals are not the end of the world. Don’t let the stress prevent you from taking care of yourself. Get enough sleep, drink enough water, eat a good meal, and know that no matter how you do on these tests, life will go on.

4. There are bigger things in life than school

Try not to put too much pressure on yourself to do well. I know that is easier said than done, but try to put this test in perspective of the grand scheme of things. Take a step back and breathe. It will not be the end of the world if you don’t do as well as you want to. Do your best and give yourself a little bit of credit, it’s been a rough semester for all of us.
