Life Hacks to Empowering Your Inner Boss

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at SFA chapter.

Think positively, starting every morning

Starting your morning right with a positive mindset can help you to take control of everyday. Learn to remove every negative thought by replacing them with positive ones. By practicing this every morning, you can learn to become your biggest support system.  You could always include watching/listening to your favorite TED talks or motivational videos while getting ready for the day, listening to positive or uplifting music, or some form of meditation.

Exercise

You don’t have to go apply for a gym membership and start paying a monthly fee, but find some sort of way to get physically active. Exercise has been proven to help make you feel better mentally and physically, which can also give you a better sense of empowerment.

Speak up for yourself

By speaking up for yourself, you can give off the vibe to others that you respect yourself, and accept who you are. When you respect yourself, others will in turn respect you. Life is full of people who will try to run over you, or tell you who or how you should be, or what you should do. Don’t be afraid to let your thoughts or ideas be known.

Don’t be afraid of raising your standards when it comes to relationships

You should always know what you do NOT want in a relationship. Stop tolerating just anything, and start saying goodbye to people who like to waste your time.

No matter what, keep your head held high and shoulders back

Good posture can help you and everyone that you encounter know that you have confidence. Even in the animal kingdom, body language is used to exude power. So, walking straight can literally make you look more powerful!
