Every word they say always has a different meaning,

And every little thing often ends in screaming.

You start to think the high outweighs the low,

But really, you’re just afraid to be alone.

It’s so hard to break out of a toxic relationship,

Especially, because they have you twirled around their fingertip.

Knowing they use their words as ways of manipulation,

You can’t help but fall in love with their scarce flirtation.

This relationship will leave you feeling drained time and time again.

It constantly strains your brain.

You will often wonder if you’ll ever be good enough,

But it is not you who needs to do the growing up.

However, they will continue to use their words as constant beatings,

Because they know you will never be leaving.

I am currently a junior majoring in psychology at the University of Scranton. I am Scranton born and raised. I plan on attending grad school after completing my studies at the University. I also love to write about almost anything especially in regards to mental health.
