So anyone who knows me knows I have a lot of plants. I currently have 8 on my dresser and 1 that hangs but I would love to have more. I have everything from bamboo, succulents, aloe and anything green. I like flowering plants but they are more temperamental in a dorm room when they can’t always be in direct sunlight with my bed being in the window.

  1. They can help purify the air in your small space like a bedroom. They create oxygen in return so it can help decrease sickness and stress along with increasing focus. I am a stressful and busy person so it helps my immune system and calm down when I take care of my plants.

2. It has therapeutic benefits. My plants are something I take care of at least once a week so it is the cheaper and easier version of an emotional support animal. I get satisfaction and excitement while watching it grow and sprout new leaves.

3. The benefits of being exposed to nature. Having a plant or two or like me with many is a piece of nature and that they can reduce anxiety, mental fatigue and when touching them it can have an unconscious calming effect.

4. It can add life and vibrancy into your dorm room. Plants come in different sizes and colors which makes them somewhat customizable for your space. Plants can be more than just decoration; they can suit your style.

5. You can keep it simple. You don’t need big and fancy plants. You can have little succulents if there isn’t room for the big ones. They can be hung or placed on something to match the size of your space. Another bonus is that they are easy to take care of since they need only a little effort.
