5 Easy Ways to Stay in Shape on Campus

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Ramapo chapter.

Didn’t think staying in shape was easy? Ramapo has great resources for students to use on campus. Remember, any workout is better than no workout.

1.  Go to the gym!

Your tuition allows you access to both the Bradley Center and the Lodge. They have treadmill, elliptical, bike and weight machines. The Bradley center is bigger, so it offers more equipment like free weights, kettle, and exercise balls. The Lodge has it’s benefits too– it’s low-key and less crowded, so it’s perfect for those of you who don’t want an audience while you get your sweat on! Both can give you a great workout.

2.  Don’t like to work out on your own? Join a class!

Ramapo provides free fitness classes to all students. From zumba to spin, there’s something for everyone. Try cardio sculpt for a mix of cardio and strength training, or kickboxing for a full-body workout! If you want to work on flexibility, the yoga club also provides yoga classes on campus. This semester Ramapo has added a Cross fit class, so go see what the hype is all about!

3.  Swim!

Students also have access to the pool located in the Bradley Center. There are dedicated swim hours for those looking for a low-impact, full-body workout. Grab your bathing suit and a towel and jump in!

4. Go to the Reservation!

From hiking, to walking, to running, you can do it all at the Ramapo Reservation. Grab a friend and explore a trail, or put on your running shoes and jog around the beautiful lake or up a steep hill. Being outside also boosts your energy levels, so after studying hard for an exam take a trip outside to re-energize.

5.  Miss being on a team? Join intramurals!

We have lacrosse, dodge ball, volleyball, ultimate Frisbee, softball, soccer, and flag football. Sign up for a team today!

Take advantage of all Ramapo has to offer and stay active!

Hey Guys!! My name is Elina and I'm the Co-Founder and Editor-in-Chief of the Ramapo Chapter here at Her Campus :)Right now, I'm a senior studying journalism at Ramapo College. My dream is to work in the field of entertainment news-- either through broadcasting or magazine journalism. Right now, I'm interning at Elvis Duran and the Morning Show and I am obsessed!!! I can only hope to continue on this road, and until then I'll be doing whatever I can to make that possible. Though I'm only a half-hour from school, I live on campus and wouldn't have it any other way. If I need some fam-time I'm close enough of a drive where it's not a hassle, and far enough where I have my space. I live with pledge sisters-- I'm a member of Sigma Delta Tau here at Ramapo. These girls are my LIFE!I hope you have as much fun reading our Her Campus chapter as we've had making it possible each week. HAPPY READING!!
