4 Deals Every College Student Should Know About

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Portland chapter.

As college students, we’re all on a budget, so it’s important to shop smart. Businesses know this and offer a variety of student discounts so that we can shop without breaking the bank. Here are 4 deals every college student should know about:

1. Spotify/Hulu Combo

What’s better than music, TV shows and movies for one low price? As a college student, you can get Spotify for only $4.99/month, and now that includes a FREE Hulu subscription. If you already have Spotify Premium, just log into your account and activate your new Hulu account. Now you can listen to music and binge shows for the same price.

2. Amazon Prime for Students

Paying for shipping’s the worst part of online shopping, but Amazon has an offer that gives you free two-day shipping. With your school email, you can get 6 months of Amazon Prime for FREE. That includes free two-day shipping, Amazon Prime Instant Video, Amazon Music and more. After your 6 months is up, you can cancel your subscription or continue your prime subscription for 50% off the standard price.

3. Adobe Services

Ever wanted to take your Instagram edits to the next level? Or photoshop yourself next to Ryan Gosling? Well, here’s your chance! Adobe offers discounted rates for Lightroom and Photoshop for college students. You can get both apps for only $9.99/month. Or get all 20 of Adobe’s apps for $19.99/month. While this might seem expensive, the standard price for the full Adobe Creative Cloud is $49.99/month. So it’s really a steal!

4. Unidays

Do you ever wish all of your discounts were in the same place? Well, then it’s time you download the Unidays app. Unidays is a free for college students, with discount codes, exclusive offers and early access to a variety of stores and brands. They’re always adding new deals, so if you don’t see something you like at first, check back in a day or so, and you’ll find a deal perfect for you.

BONUS TIP: Bring your student ID everywhere!

While this isn’t a specific deal, it’s a way to save at countless places. Many stores, museums and more offer discounts to students with a valid ID. Places like Levi’s, Alex & Ani, J. Crew, TopShop, Apple and Microsoft also offer deals exclusively for students. I suggest you always carry your ID with you and ask if stores have student discounts at check-out. It doesn’t hurt to ask and you might save money on things you were already planning to buy.
