If you could only survive with one type of makeup for the rest of your life, what would you choose?

Many people choose mascara, others a pop of lipstick, and still others might want highlight.

I would choose eyeshadow every day of the week.

To be perfectly transparent, I do not have the greatest skin nor the most pronounced cheekbones. Foundation or contour would probably greater serve me, but no. Eyeshadow is the thing for me.

And I do not mess around with safe, natural colors.

My favorite shades to work with? Bright yellows, warm oranges, smokey eyeshadows. Though I am an artist, sometimes taking out a canvas, acrylics, brushes, etc. can be exhausting and even daunting. Rather than fully committing to a new art piece, I can just slap some primer on my lids and get to work on a whole different kind of artwork right on my face.

The one palette I cannot live without is the “Yes, Please!” palette by Colourpop. Let me tell you, if you are someone who is looking for a great makeup brand with fantastic products, Colourpop is the one for you. Not only do they have relatively inexpensive highlight shades but they are famous for their eyeshadow options. Both pigmented and easy to blend, these shades are the best I have ever worked with. I cannot recommend them highly enough.  https://pin.it/sknfvuzktdfgyq

I think eyeshadow has become an obsession. I’ll wake up and tell myself to do a simple look and then 30 minutes later, I have a full newly invented creation that I fall in love with.

The greatest compliment I can receive is someone who has taken a moment to note just how much work I have put into the eyeshadow look of the day.

The thing is, you don’t need a particularly vibrant eyeshadow look, or eyeshadow at all, to feel the way I do. Creating new looks with different colors is just the thing that allows me to feel a daily sense of creativity. There are so many other ways to feel that same sense of expression, whether that be in the way that you dress or how you do your hair. I encourage you to find some sort of outlet that allows you to proclaim just how creative you are.
