The Glass — A Poem

The glass can be 

as full or as empty

as you want to believe.

But the longer you

choose to hold it,

the heavier it will become.

So if you decide

this is too much water

for you to keep inside,

allow it to flow out

in the form of your words,

even if it will take

             drop 

            by 

                drop

                let it

                 drip

            drip

               drip

so that you can set 

the glass down and 

               breathe.

The paper will always be there

to soak it up and

set you free.
