The Healthiest Drink Options at Starbucks

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at NYU chapter.

We all love a good drink to help get us through the day, and Starbucks is a great option to pick up a quick coffee on the go! But, when it becomes a habit, sometimes a daily frappe isn’t the best of ideas. Here are some healthier drink options to try out:

1. Strawberry Acai Starbucks Refreshers Beverage

Size: Grande

Calories: 90

Caffeine (mg): 50

The Strawberry Acai Beverage is one of three Starbucks Refreshers Beverages. It’s sweet, fruity, and perfect for everyone, including both coffee drinkers and non-coffee drinkers.

2. Mango Dragonfruit Starbucks Refreshers Beverage

Size: Grande

Calories: 90

Caffeine (mg): 50

This drink is a recent addition to the menu and has been well-received for its aesthetics and brilliant pink color. Made with real dragonfruit, its authentic taste makes the Mango Dragonfruit Beverage an irresistible option.

3. Very Berry Hibiscus Starbucks Refreshers Beverage

Size: Grande

Calories: 70

Caffeine (mg): 50

For individuals who prefer tart flavors, this drink is the one. The Very Berry Hibiscus Beverage has a hint of tartness. It’s slight and apparent, but not overpowering.

4. Iced White Tea Lemonade

Size: Grande

Calories: 90

Caffeine (mg): 20

Although it only has 20 mg of caffeine, the Iced White Tea Lemonade is an ideal drink to order for a cold wake-up jolt.

5. Iced Vanilla Bean Coconut Milk Latte

Size: Grande

Calories: 140

Caffeine (mg): 150

Sipping this drink, the first thing you’ll notice is its silky smooth texture, followed by the sweetness of the coconut milk (perfect for those who are allergic to dairy or vegan!) With 140 calories, the Iced Vanilla Bean Coconut Milk Latte is certainly a healthier option to choose from the Starbucks menu. This drink is also offered as a hot drink and might be a go-to during the upcoming colder months, but there is an additional 30 calories.

6. Flat White

Size: Grande

Calories: 220

Caffeine (mg): 195

Flat White is a creamy blend of espresso shots and steamed whole milk. Out of the other listed options, this drink has the greatest amount of caffeine and the highest calorie count. If you’re willing to make the trade-off of more calories for more caffeine, then Flat White is the drink to try.

7. Iced Coffee with Milk

Size: Grande

Calories: 110

Caffeine (mg): 125mg

Nothing beats a classic Iced Coffee. With 2% milk, the calorie count comes out to 110 calories, which makes this drink one of the healthier options.

This semester, be sure to try out one of these healthy drink options! We hope you like them “a latte”!
