Here at Notre Dame, the presence of athletics within the student body is astounding. Athletes are everywhere, whether they are varsity level, club team stars, or just students who love to go on runs around the lakes; it is pretty hard to avoid.  But, there are those who are not as infatuated with athletics as others, and that’s okay. Let’s face it, many of us are like this when it comes to exerting athletic effort:

There are some quick and easy ways to tune into your inner athlete, without going to extremes. These lazy health hacks help you to get your workouts in while enjoying yourself. The craze that is starting to pop up everywhere are TV workouts, combining something everyone loves with something most people dread.

TV workouts follow a very basic principle; the same one as drinking games. Basically, they take your favorite television shows and based on the plot, find instances within them that recur frequently. Then, these moments are paired with quick and simple exercises. When the sections in the plot pop up in the show, you need to pause and do your exercises before resuming.

It’s this simple!

I know, sounds tedious and boring, but this cannot be further form the truth! Especially when you do it with friends, you can react to the craziness of your favorite shows all while fitting in exercise. They are easy to find online, and if not, you can customize your own to fit your television programs, along with the areas of the body you want to focus on. This includes core work, aerobics, and strength training. So get a bunch of friends, get your favorite TV series, and get going!

Here are some popular TV workouts to get the ball rolling:

1.  Supernatural

2.  Orange is the New Black

3.  Game of Thrones

4.  The Walking Dead

5.  Friends
