We all know that sometimes a little retail therapy is necessary, but when your purchase leads to helping end world hunger, the thrill of shopping can feel even better.
This ‘fashion for a cause’ mentality inspired 20-year-old Northeastern student Ariella Sharf to create Heads Up For Charity, a fashion forward brand focused on raising people’s “Heads Up” to what is going on in the world and encouraging shoppers to give back in a fashionable way.
On Sunday, March 30, 2014, Heads Up For Charity will be hosting a trunk show from 1-3 pm in Boston (Address TBA) with FeelGood, a national student-run social enterprise committed to ending world hunger. FeelGood chapters throughout the United States sell gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches to raise awareness and funds for their partner organizations CHOICE Humanitarian and The Hunger Project.
“We’re so excited to see how fashion can contribute to such a powerful cause,” said Sharf. “Heads Up For Charity utilizes a penny in making each Heads Up piece a lucky charm, and we’re thrilled that our one-of-a-kind bracelets will have such a lasting impact!”
