We have been buried into the leaves of fall and cold winter. Let’s approach this spring softly and celebrate the new warmth once again.

Spring Equinox brings warmth and rebirth. It marks the time of growing new seeds, planting new life, and contributing to us and the earth. This is vital, and it is a perfect time to take a step back and connect with any new life that needs nourishing. The new equinox allows us to better cultivate this growth and bring on better means.

Spring Equinox starts March 20th, 2025, at 5:01 am EDT (2:01 am Pacific) and lands on a Thursday. Otherwise known as “First Point of Aries”, this solstice event derives to the meaning of a “New/Fresh Equal Night”. This means that our daylight hours have been growing longer each day since the winter solstice in December. Signals for the start of spring are happening soon. The daylight begins to outshine the darkness these days. How should we take advantage of this new benefit?

5 Facts about the Spring Equinox

Firstly, A soft approach to the upcoming spring is to bring a fresh smell to your living space. Consider creating a spring simmer pot to bring seasonal comfort and a natural scent to your life. Start by boiling roughly ¾ of your pot with water, or more if need be. After the water is done boiling, add your ingredients of choice. One simmer pot can consist of bay leaves, fresh lavender, basil, pine, mint, orange, rose petals, and pine. Essential oils can be used as well. This will bring the pot to another boil and begin to simmer the pot to bring out the natural fragrances of the herbs and flowers. Simmer pots can be creative and completely customizable to your favorite scents.

Furthermore, Spring is about bringing new life. With this approach, spring cleaning and decluttering are where it is at. Begin with filtering through the clutter and rooms that have not been considered in a while, and get rid of things weighing you down. Deep clean your living space, and play music and dance to it. While cleaning out the old, make that simmer pot I mentioned earlier to rejuvenate your space… Be sure to open a window so the negativity has somewhere to go…

Lastly, to conceal the celebration of the Spring Equinox, plan to create a gratitude jar. A jar to fulfill ourselves in this new and fresh time. Making a gratitude jar is one of those rituals that keeps on giving! Take a trip to your local thrift store and grab the cutest jar. Through the season, take moments to reflect on yourself, the life you want, or absolutely any positive you want to create for yourself. Write these thoughts down, and into the jar they go, creating positive energy for your aspirations.
