Hey babes! How are you today? Be honest! I would like to get a little personal if you will. As we all know, finals are upon us. This year has been one interesting ride but, we’re almost done. We can get through this last month together. Are you ready for what’s ahead? You don’t need to stress or worry too much about what’s ahead. You got this babe, no matter if you started rocky like me or are sailing by with flying colors. My roommates and I started by catching covid the second week of school. It’s not the ideal way to start junior and senior year but life happens. I just want you to focus on passing by any means necessary. If you believe your career choice is for you then do it.

Today’s social media has everyone thinking we are supposed to be married with children and have a house with a white picket fence. In reality, it’s just time to enjoy life. A young woman once told me “your 20s are a time to be selfish.”  This is usually the only time in your life when you don’t have to worry about kids or significant others. You only have to listen and do things for yourself. I know we all said “ I wish I was older/ grown” at some point. Don’t be so quick to grow up. The best things in life take time, even if we don’t believe so. These are the years you learn, grow, fall, and fail. College is the best time for the majority of college students to only have to think of themselves, which is a privilege in some cases. Always remember these years from 18 to 20 something you only have to think about what’s best for you. It’s okay to be selfish. It’s okay to put yourself first and to think about your needs and wants. You have reached a point in life where you’re old enough to know better but young enough to still make mistakes. It’s okay to go after what you want even if others don’t understand because it’s your life, not theirs.

The path to your future is already made, you just have to get to it. Trust me, there will be trips, falls, and fumbles along the way. But if it is really your heart’s desire you’ll find your way to it. Whether it be by luck or destiny. All it takes is the faith of a mustard seed. If you can dream it you can make it happen. Not to get religious to you but my pastor once said if you hear it then you’ll start to think it, and if you can think it you will see it. Once you see it it’s already yours. One day we all will be able to look back on life and see moments in life that made us who we are.

Until next time, Good luck babes.
