As we gear up for the highly anticipated and long awaited finale to the iconic TV show The Summer I Turned Pretty, and finally find out who Belly will pick (please be Conrad — I won’t accept anything else!) it begs the question: what do you possibly watch after being so emotionally invested in these characters, the story, and soundtrack?

It’s a good thing that there are plenty of shows that could fulfill your need for drama, romance, and coming of age, a lot of them even featuring the infamous love triangle, and did I mention: brothers — what more could someone want?

Here are some recommendations for the next show you could obsess over.

My Life With the Walter Boys

Where do I start? First off, if you are a “he’s a bad boy but has a soft spot for her” type of person, watch this immediately. Secondly, cowboys. Who doesn’t love a good small town, where everyone knows everyone, romance with cowboys. Thirdly, a big family with relatable relationships, and also, who doesn’t love watching Sarah Rafferty on their screen?

Never Have I Ever

After the emotional turmoil that was The Summer I Turned Pretty, everyone needs a good laugh. Never Have I Ever is all that, and then some. This is a show that perfectly balances funny, relatable, and has a love interest to root for. It is one of a kind, a unicorn you could say. Easily bingeable, immensely enjoyable, and completely addicting, this is a show that has a bit of everything for everyone.

Gilmore Girls

I don’t know about everyone else, but I am ready for fall. All the trees turning orange and yellow, chilly mornings on the porch, the Starbuck’s fall menu, and this list cannot be complete without adding Gilmore Girls. A series about a  coming of age girl, with many swoon worthy love interests to steal your heart, Gilmore Girls is a staple. Snuggle up with a blanket and some pumpkin chai and begin watching your new comfort show!

XO, Kitty

Who’s not a sucker for a show that’s just so cringey you can’t tear your eyes away? Or, another love triangle? Look no further, XO, Kitty has you covered. This coming of age romantic drama is filled not only with romance to keep you entertained, but a family mystery that will keep you on your toes. Plus, Peter Kavinsky makes an appearance, and I think that’s reason enough to give the show a try.

Heartstopper

Everyone loves a sweet, kind, young romance. Heartstopper, another book turned into a TV series, follows young Charlie and his path to love. This show has an outstanding soundtrack, lovable, relatable characters, and a love story for the ages. Highlighting many important topics such as mental health, this show makes you root for the characters and has you waiting to see what will happen next.

Nobody Wants This

Kristen Bell and Adam Brody. That’s it. Do you really need any more information? This show gives a refreshing view on romance. It’s a relatable, funny, and deeply emotional show that highlights flaws amongst the characters and how those flaws can show up in love. As the season two release date looms around the corner, now is just the right time to pick up a new show with a first kiss that broke the internet.

Moving on from the trance and lifestyle that is The Summer I Turned Pretty is hard, but not impossible. There are so many shows that have incredible stories and are waiting to be watched. You can fall in love with another show, and I hope that it’s one mentioned above.
