you were my favorite fruit
one i seemed to always crave
with strawberry flavored lips
that satisfied every craving once
leaves my lips now dry
after you left a bitter aftertaste
when you changed your mind.
we moved through the cycle of love
blossoming countless fruits from my heart
you wouldn’t care for them and left them to rot
my heart laid petrified and betrayed
as the animals devoured it’s juices until drained
now, do you like the sour flavor?
do you like the sudden change
of my pineapple heart?
eating you from the start
and slowly tearing you apart.
it’ll never taste the same
and you’re the one to blame
for the sweet taste
you tried to ruin.
