I love to travel, but I don’t always have the money or time to take long trips outside of the United States. So, over the years, I have traveled to quite a few U.S. destinations; here are some of my favorites!Â
New York City, New York
This one is pretty obvious, for many reasons. It is one of the most visited cities in the U.S., and probably the world. I have only been to New York once, when I was in ninth grade, and I absolutely fell in love. The amount to do, see, and experience in the city is exactly why it is one of my favorites. I recommend visiting for a long weekend, and going to places like Times Square and Central Park, as well as walking down Fifth Avenue. Although I have only been there once, I have been itching to go back.
Tampa, Florida
There are many places to visit in Florida: Orlando, Miami, and Key West, to name a few. However, I have always enjoyed visiting Tampa. Because it is a big city, there is lots of shopping and restaurants to visit. There is also a really nice river walk to stroll around. It’s almost always warm (because it’s Florida, duh) and it is really close to the beach. Also, when sports are in season, Tampa has multiple arenas in the area to attend sporting events — from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to the Tampa Bay Rays.Â
Nashville, Tennessee
I went to Nashville last year for spring break, and I absolutely had a blast. It is a city where you do not have to spend the whole week there — four to five days is probably enough. Walking down Broadway Street and listening to all the live music from the bars was so much fun — there are also several shops and restaurants to visit too. I also recommend going to Centennial Park, The Grand Ole Opry, and the Gibson Garage.
Kure Beach, North Carolina
If you’re looking for a cute little beach town to spend your vacation in, I recommend North Carolina. Sitting on the beach for a week is exactly what we need sometimes, and Kure Beach is a perfect place to do this. Unlike Florida, it doesn’t get too packed or too hot, and there are plenty of local piers, gift shops, and seafood places to visit when you get sick of the beach.Â
Holland, Michigan
Living in Michigan, I had to include somewhere from my home state! I have visited Holland a few times, and it is always so much fun. It is a small beach town on Lake Michigan, and I may be biased, but I love Lake Michigan more than any ocean. Whether it be for a weekend getaway or a long vacation, Holland is the perfect place to go to relax and spend time on the beach. Obviously, since it’s Michigan, I recommend going in the summertime when the weather is nice enough to go swimming.Â
These are only a few of my favorite travel destinations! I hope I inspired you to take a trip and see new places. The U.S. is beautiful, and I look forward to seeing more of it soon.
